General Information

Location: this year’s Conference takes place in the School of Nursing and Human Sciences (SNHS) at DCU, Glasnevin Campus.  Please see: for map – SNHS is indicated by H on the map.

Nobel Laureate Lecture: takes place in the Mahony Hall, The Helix, DCU—indicated by Z on the map.

Registration and Name badges: the registration desk will be located in the Foyer of the SNHS Building.  Delegates are asked to wear their badges throughout the meeting.

Posters: poster sessions will take place in the SNHS Building.

Lunch and tea/coffee breaks: tea, coffee, snacks and refreshments will be served in the SNHS Building.

Services: there are a number of ATMs available on the Glasnevin Campus—see map.  There is also a Bank of Ireland located in the building indicated by CA.

Internet access: free wifi access is available for conference attendees.  Wifi code will be provided in conference bag.

Car parking: there is a multi-storey car park on the campus—indicated by F on the map.

Taxis: the number for VIP Taxis is (+353 1) 478 3333.

Conference Banquet: the Conference Banquet will take place in the evening of the 1st of September at The Clontarf Castle Hotel. Transport has been arranged with a bus leaving the SNHS Building at 18.45h to the venue and from the venue at 23.15h, with stops in the city centre and The Croke Park Hotel, Drumcondra.

Certificate of Attendance: if you need a Certificate of Attendance of our 9th NSI Conference, please ask at registration desk during the conference.

General help and information: undergraduate student volunteers of the BSc in Psychology Programme at DCU will be available throughout the Conference at the registration desk and various locations of the conference venue and will be happy to answer any queries you may have.

Accommodation Options:

Please note: A major sporting event – the All-Ireland Hurling Final – is on in Dublin on the weekend after the conference. The venue, Croke Park, is near DCU so many hotels will book up quickly for the week of the conference. Please book early!

The organising committee has sourced rates at selected hotels or B&Bs located very close to DCU.

Delegates should book rooms directly with the hotel or B&B.

Please donwload the NI Conference Accommodation List with some suggestions. This list is not exhaustive and delegates can locate numerous other accommodations near DCU based on rates and preferences.

All rates are quoted per room per night and inclusive of VAT and breakfast.

Delegates should book their accommodation directly with the hotel of their choice.

We advise delegates to check the cancellation terms with the hotel at time of booking / reserving the accommodation.

A very good option, especially for students, is DCU accommodation which offers a variety of options of single or double rooms, and shared apartments (with or without breakfast) at prices starting from €37 ppn.
