Young Neuroscientists Symposium, 1st Sept 2016

The 2016 Young Neuroscience Symposium took place on September 1st, 2016 in Trinity College Dublin.

More information, the provisional schedule, and our generous sponsors.

The goal of the symposium is to provide a platform for young Irish based neuroscientists to showcase their research in an engaging and supportive environment. It is also hoped that the symposium will encourage and enable collaborative efforts amongst the young neuroscience community in Ireland.
The event will feature three keynote speakers representing clinical, basic science and industry including Dr. Dara Cannon (NUI Galway), Dr. Lee Dawson (Astex Pharmaceuticals) and Prof. Dr. Alon Chen, Director and Scientific Member of the Max Planck Institute of Psychiatry. This year’s event will also feature an interactive career panel discussion which will allow attendees to interact with faculty members, including Dr. Stella Vlachou (DCU) , as well as industry representatives, including Dr. Niamh Murphy (MSL, Novartis).
The event will provide a wonderful opportunity for research dissemination through oral communications and poster presentations spanning all aspects of neuroscience. There will be prizes for best postdoc oral communication and best PhD oral communication as well as poster prizes for outstanding research potential and presentation. This year will also see the return of the Neuroscience Ireland Early Career award. Attendees and PIs are encouraged to nominate outstanding members of the young neuroscience community by emailing a short description of the researcher’s achievements to youngneuroireland2016@gmail.com.
The social event will also return and will be held at the nearby Xico on Baggot Street.
Abstract submission and registration is now open!!!
General information can be found on the Symposium Info page.
