Neuroscience Ireland Awards, 2013

The Awards that were presented at this year’s Neuroscience Ireland Conference are detailed below.

The Tom Connor Distinguished Investigator Award was given to Professor Marina Lynch (Trinity College Dublin) for her contributions to Irish Neuroscience and particularly for her research on neuroinflammatory changes in age-related deterioration in synaptic function in the brain.

Dr Eric Downer (University College Cork) received the Early Career Investigator Award for his work in the area of neuroimmunology, including his contributions to our understanding of cannabinoids as anti-inflammatory therapies in Multiple Sclerosis.
